Course Overview
This Academic English course is designed to prepare students for Academic studies in their own country and also for those attending University in the UK. It enables the trainee to develop and practise the special skills and formal language necessary in order to achieve academic success.
There are advanced English writing skills as well as help in working on style for dissertations and research papers, plus listening and note taking skills for lectures. We aim to develop students’ fluency and confidence while building their grammar and vocabulary, with a particular focus on the technical English required for academic success.
Who is it for?
Designed for Academic and Higher Education students who need to study in English medium for some or all of their studies, our Academic English course enables the trainee to develop and practise the special skills and formal language necessary in order to achieve academic success.
For students preparing for the Prepa exam, we offer targeted support for both the English and academic subject elements of the programme.

Course Content
Select 15, 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week. In addition, you would normally be given between one and two hours' work to prepare for the next day's lessons. Each lesson is 60 minutes.
Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses in languages, so everyone’s level is slightly different. InTuition’s unique Language Assessment Profiler™ enables us to assess your language level in the critical areas:

- vocabulary
- pronunciation
Your tutor will then design your Personal Study Plan with you and using specific materials to meet your level and prepare you for your goals.
Following the end of your English course, all students receive one hour free online video tutoring with InTuition Vis-a-Vis. Keep in touch with your host tutor and continue your future language development.

J'ai adoré mon immersion à Edimbourg: mes hôtes étaient adorables, j'ai beaucoup parlé anglais, j'ai appris beaucoup concernant le vocabulaire et la grammaire, mes hôtes étaient d'excellents cuisiniers, leur maison est très proche du centre-ville, ma chambre était confortable et Edimbourg est une jolie ville. I spent two weeks in Nicé at the teachers home with Pierre as my personal tutor. It definitely exceeded all my expectations! I was fully integrated in the family and this made it a full immersion experience. Pierre and his wife are really great hosts and I learned a lot! Looking forward to the next time I can go!!

I booked a week homestay in June 2022 in Vancouver, Canada. I had a great overall experience!My European agency went through InTuition Languages.In this time of Covid I thought it would be safer to have a cancellation policy through my own country. However, I would not recommend it. Do not hesitate to contact InTuition Languages agency directly. They seem to have good contacts with very good and dedicated teachers. I was also impressed by the availability and attention of my InTuition contact in the US. She contacted my host and I several times to make sure everything was going well.My host was very welcoming, attentive and a very good English teacher. She also made sure I could rest and have my own space. We did specific English exercises to reinforce my weaknesses. She shared with me part of her daily life. We met several friends of her during walks and dinners. She planned several activities taking into account my wishes, my level of English, my age and my interests.Don't hesitate to take the cheapest option, anyway you will be doing activities and classes on a daily basis.I will definitely keep good memories of this part of my trip to Western Canada!

I'm very satisfied with my experience at Nick's home. He and his wife were very kind and welcoming. The bedroom and bathroom were perfect for my needs and also the location of the house, 15 minutes walk from the City center. The quality of the food -in spite of my concerns-was also excellent (in my previous experience in UK the Food was really bad). I also found it very useful to have a TV in my room because in the evening I could easily watch programs with subtitles

I spent a great, unforgettable week in Bray with Mary and her family. Mary is a very nice and joyful person as well as a very competent and demanding teacher. She helped me to improve my pronunciation, my grammar and my writing. We spoke about culture, history, books and everyday life. It was a very intensive and helpfully week for me and I could "feel" my improvement everyday. J'ai passé une très bonne semaine à Londres chez Alina. L'accueil a été très agréable au sein de sa famille et a participé à une véritable immersion dans la culture britannique. De plus, la famille était située non loin du centre de Londres. Les cours d'anglais étaient variés, adaptés à mon niveau et aux besoins que j'avais exprimé en amont.

Dear all,I am sorry to replay late.Anyway , the course at teachers home which I was attended, was wonderfull experience for me. You found for me excelent teacher Naomi, with whom and her family I got on well.Naomi is the excelent teacher she led me and helped me to improve my english skills, especcially grammar. I lost my fear of speaking. That is great for me.We had a lot of fun, because we are interested at same hobby and activity.Thanks Naomi I made progress every day.She used to arrange the meeting with her friends almost every afternoon, where I practiced my english 🙂 We visited London twice. We were in Modern Tatoo gallery where we enjoyed Pablo Piccasso excibition. Then we had a sightseeing. Next time I was alone in London , I used hop in hop on bus to see as much as possible from London.Naomy's house is situated in Richmond, one of the beutiful borough in London . There are plenty of parks, where I used to go relaxing after mornings lessons. There is also beatiful th botanical garden The Cew. We visited that peaceful place with Naomi. Exciting trip was for me visiting Hampton Court. We lost in the maze :)))) there wich is including Hampton Court.The best experience was The Globe Theatro, where Naomy and me enjoyed Shakespears's Hamlet!!!!Thank you Naomi for all.I hope we will see agin next year.Michaela

I've lived unforgettable moments during my stay (3 weeks) in Edinburgh, amazing city with a lot of history and many beautiful places. I was very lucky to be in a lovely house of Ken and Mio. Ken is an excellent teacher with a rich culture and good sense of humor. Mio is a warmhearted and cultured woman with a very positive attitude. The both make you feel at home. My lessons were adapted to my needs in English, daily conversations and various activities helped to improve my comprehension, grammar skills and pronunciation. Ich hatte einen 6-Wochen-Kurs "General Business" als Einzelunterricht gebucht und diesen in 3x2 Wochen unterteilen lassen. Untergebracht war ich bei 3 Familien im Süden Englands. Jede Gastfamilie war auf ihre eigene Art eine Bereicherung für diese Zeit und die Lehrer hätten unterschiedlicher nicht sein können. Genaus das machte ein Lernen auf allen Ebenen "Sprechen, Lesen, Hören und Schreiben" möglich und bescherte mir nicht nur eine tolle Erfahrung, sondern auch einen entsprechenden Lernerfolg. Als "Advanced Student (C1)" habe ich Facetten der englischen Sprache kennengelernt, die mir so noch nicht bekannt waren. Ich kann InTuition auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Die Betreuung ist vollumfänglich und wirklich ernst gemeint. Inwieweit man Lernerfolg hat, liegt natürlich auch an einem selbst. Meine 6 Wochen waren eher eine "challenge" und weniger "holidays". Zusammenfassung: Top Lehrer, Top Schule, entsprechender Forschritt...was will man mehr.My view after 7 months back in Germany:I am very happy to say that lessons with you have given me confidence in speaking English. That led to a lot of business trips in last months and at the end to a new job within Vattenfall group.I am very happy to say that I am now "Head of Controlling Sweden" within our Business Unit Nuclear Decommissioning. I usually spend three days a week in Sweden (speaking English) and the rest in Germany. I am currently running a department of three employees with growth potential up to ten people.All of you have played an important role in that promotion. Thank you very much indeed!By the way @Paul/David: I am very interested in Brighton & Hove Albion. I hope they will play well in premier league

One of the best experience I ever had!My general immersion course was a big success due to the intense interaction with my Professore Michael G. in Deal.The aim of my course was to improve my ability to understand the conversation, to speak more easlyand to get better my pronunciation.His patience, his ability to explain, and of course the pleasent conversations in the evening with his wife Susan have allowed this.I believe this is the most effective way to improve my English skills and i will come back again (when I will have more free time).Great thanks to Michael and his family and friends for this experience.I definitely recommend this course for young and not only young students!Eugenio

Sprachkurse, die man bei InTuitionLanguages buchen kann, sind eine großartige Erfahrung, sie machen Freude und bereichern jede Reise. I appreciated their communication papers before my tuition stay: they were complete and understandable and gave me all the information I needed to prepare my trip. They also have a wide range of teachers which helps choose the location freely. On the downside, they have a very strict cancellation policy: I was disappointed I couldn't make any changes to my trip without losing the deposit even though I asked for them with 6 months advance to the booking date!

Für mich war dies genau die richtige Art und Weise mein Englisch zu verbessern! Ein Gruppenkurs war für mich nicht vorstellbar, da ich einen auf mich persönlich abgestimmten Intensiv-Kurs gesucht habe. Mit Megs K. in London habe ich auch eine großartige Lehrerin gehabt, sie war sehr bemüht mir auch außerhalb des Unterrichts möglichst viel von "ihrem" London zu zeigen. Es waren ein Theaterbesuch und natürlich auch ein Pub-Besuch dabei. Dieser Sprachkurs war für mich eine große Bereicherung und ich habe bereits den nächsten im Sommer gebucht - diesmal auch etwas länger :-)Michaela aus Wien

I had a great week in Dublin. Paula was very professional. I'm an English teacher in Italy and I needed to practise my English. She helped me to improve my pronuciation, we spoke about culture, music and everyday life. I also met nice people there and I enjoyed visiting the city. I went to the theatre and I saw a wonderful musical. Paul invited me to spend a day with her collegues. I met her friends too. I think that all the Dubliners are very nice and kind.
