InCon 2023: the big event for all InTuition Languages tutors returns for the first time since 2019 - with more workshops, seminars, socialising and fun than ever before.

RefuAid provide the Language: A Gateway programme for refugees in the UK who need to improve their English language ability to enter a profession. InTuition Languages is proud to support RefuAid's work by providing access to our network of specialist tutors.

Doreen Tayler

Doreen is one of our most experienced host tutors, with more than 30 years' experience. During her session, she'll look back over the many changes she's seen over the years - good and bad! - and share her expertise on what makes for a great home tuition course. Doreen's session is particularly recommended for new or less experienced host tutors.

Ilaria Tarulli

Ilaria is Head of Language Programme at Refuaid. Her workshop will introduce the work done by RefuAid and show the broader cultural impact and benefits delivered by the work they do with asylum seeker and refugee language learners.

Ri Willoughby

Ri is a teacher and teacher trainer at International House London. She has also worked at King's College London and has taught and trained in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, China and PeruShe has a keen interest in teacher development, learner motivation and developing learners’ pronunciation. Her workshop will focus on the new International House London teacher portal, a great all-round resource for any independent language tutor. 

George Tudor Hart

George is one of InTuition's most experienced Business English specialist tutors, with more than twenty years' experience in delivering customised programmes to corporate clients. In his workshop, he will share his expertise in creating simple, effective, customised Business English teaching materials through making use of the one resource which every class is guaranteed to have - students!

Simon Benson

Simon Benson is a leading technology consultant, specialising in immersive and real-time interactive development. Career highlights include leading multi-million-dollar AAA game projects, pioneering stereoscopic 3D console gaming and founding the PlayStation VR project.  Previously, he held the role of Director of Immersive Technology at Sony and is cited as inventor of over 50 patents. He has supported a wide variety of immersive training projects including international humanitarian safety, mental health therapy, and edutainment and is a leading voice in the Metaverse space. His session will be an exploration of how current and future technologies might influence language learning as we rapidly move towards realising the vision of the Metaverse.

Simon Thorley

Simon is the CEO of InTuition Languages. He is also a member of ELTAG, the UK government's advisory body for the language training industry, and a Parliamentary candidate. He will deliver the business review, providing insights into InTuition Languages as a business: the trends, challenges and opportunities which we face in 2023 and beyond.

Kate Hatton

Dr Kate Hatton FRSA was formerly Head of Inclusive Education Programmes at a leading arts university in London. She taught art history, cultural studies and led curriculum teams within a number of FE and HE organisations in the UK. Publications include, ‘Towards an Inclusive Arts Education’ 2015 and ‘Inclusion and Intersectionality in Visual Arts Education’, 2019. She works with intersectional discourses across disciplines and supports the demystification of pedagogy in education and research settings, to help diverse staff and students to reach their potential. 

Alexa Randell

Alexa is our Director of Studies, and is CELTA, DELTA and MA TESOL qualified. She has over ten years’ experience in all aspects of English as a Second Language including academic management, teacher training, ESOL and teacher training course content and assessment writing, exam preparation, teaching young learners and delivering CPD workshops. Alexa’s session will look at teaching one-to-one tips and techniques and is suitable for teachers who may be new to the one-to-one teaching environment.
