Wales
Wales or “Cymru” is located west of England and it has its own language and government. Wales is not highly populated and the nature is unspoiled. In the area Powys, which spreads over 30% of the whole country, is inhabited by only four percent of the total population. Wales has three main cities, with Cardiff being the capital. Swansea and Newport are the two other main cities. The Welsh are famous for dragons, sheep, and Brains beer. The Welsh love to sing and play Rugby. Their Rugby team is idolised by the nation.
Things to see and do
Cardiff
Cardiff is located in the south of Wales and it used to be a major port for the whole of the UK. The Cardiff Castle is located in the centre of the city and it is only one of many landmarks. Also Cardiff Bay is an area that cannot be skipped. The nightlife is thriving, with many pubs, bars, restaurants, clubs, and venues. In 2011 Cardiff was ranked 6th in the world in National Geographic’s alternative tourist destinations.
Swansea
Swansea was founded by a Viking leader in 1013. Although the city has a rich history, many of the city centre buildings are post-war, due to World War II bombings. It has three Grade One listed buildings, these being the Guildhall, Swansea Castle, and the Morriston Tabernacle. Swansea is an upcoming hotspot for tourists, with a wide range of clubs and bars, mainly located on the Kingsway and the Wind Street.

How to get there
There is one international airport located in Wales: Cardiff Airport. International airports close to Wales are Bristol Airport (south) and Birmingham Airport (north). The main locations in Wales are also connected to train rails, especially locations on the north- and south coast.
