How can I qualify to teach?

Teachers should have English as their mother tongue and, in addition to a first degree or equivalent, hold an accredited ELT qualification such as the Cambridge or Trinity College Certificate or Diploma, although substantial experience in English language teaching to foreign students may be considered. A warm and friendly personality and the ability to communicate are equally important requirements for an Intuition teacher.

Two qualifications are truly internationally recognised as official, entry-level "TEFL" certificates:

• The Cambridge CELTA
  (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults)

• The Trinity Cert TESOL
  (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

Both can be found as full-time, 4-week intensive courses or their part-time equivalents. Both follow a set syllabus designed to cover all aspects of ELT and are externally moderated and assessed.
