Edinburgh

scotland_2Edinburgh is located on the east coast of Scotland and it is the ancient capital of Scotland. It has often been referred to as the Athens of the North. The Royal Mile is one of the most famous streets in the world, and provides history as well as lovely typical shops. Other places worth visiting in Edinburgh are the imposing Castle, the National Gallery of Scotland, and the Greek Acropolys on Calton Hill. Princes Street is a great place for shopping and going out at night. The Arts Festival in August is the biggest in the world. UNESCO acclaimed Edinburgh to be the first City of Literature.

Glasgow

scotland_3Scotland’s second largest city but the locals claim it to be the friendliest! It’s considered to offer the second-best shopping in the UK, after London. Glasgow has been proclaimed British City of Architecture and Design and European City of Culture. Scotland’s best-known football clubs, Glasgow Rangers and Celtic FC, are located in Glasgow. The city has a thriving music scene, which stimulated bands like Snow Patrol and Franz Ferdinand to take it to the next level. Also, lots of museums and art galleries can be found in Glasgow.
