Kathryn holds a CELTA certificate and a degree in Law. She qualifies as a solicitor with over 17 years experience. Kathryn has taught English on a voluntary basis for 9 years at various primary schools in Tanzania during sabbaticals and holidays. She now teaches General English as well as General Business and English for Lawyers. Kathryn is also experienced to offer Cambridge exam preparation and TOEIC.  

Home/location

They live in a spacious traditional house in Roath, a pleasant suburb in Cardiff, the Welsh capital. They are close to Roath Park and Lake as well as many coffe houses, shops and bars. Cardiff city centre is a 20 minute walk or short bus journey away and has a wonderful modern shopping centre, museums, galleries, restaurants, bars and cinemas. Cardiff Bay is a short train journey away and has a wetland reserve, walks, shops and bars. For only £10, students can get a weekly membership at a local hotel, which offers them a gym, pool and spa. 

Student's room

A spacious, sunny, double room at the back of the house, overlooking the garden. There is a double bed, a desk, wardrobe, dressing table, bed-side table, and there is computer access. 

Family/interests

Kathryn and Huw (both born in 1965) enjoy travelling, keeping fit, walking, cycling, the theatre and cinema. Huw also enjoys playing and watching cricket. Kathryn likes to cook, read, socialise with friends and study. She's a vegetarian, but is happy to provide meat to her students.
