Steve is an experienced English Teacher, certified TESL/TESOL teacher. He and his family have hosted students through the home language program for over five years. He has his BA in Cross Cultural Studies and has worked with many diverse populations over the years, in may different capacities.     

Home/location

Nick named 'the Rose City' Portland has a population of around one million people. It is a beautiful city with a lot of trees, less than one hour from the Pacific Ocean beaches. They are living in a close-in neighborhood, within easy walking distance of spacious parks, unique pubs, coffee houses and restaurants, a movie theater, and the bustling Alberta Arts District. Their house is 3 levels giving everyone lots of room and privacy. It is a traditional style, remodeled  by the family in 2005.

Student's room

The student room is in on the top floor, with a possible private bathroom. It is cozy, comfortable and very private.

Family/interests

Steve and Ginny have grown children all but one currently living away from their parents home. They have their first grandchild, and soon there will be a second one. Their children and grandchild are frequent visitors. Steve enjoys racquetball, handball, hiking, camping, gardening and forming international friendships. Ginny loves to cook, especially for visitors, and walking, doing crafts and reading.

Currently they have on elderly dog.
