Paddy holds a CELTA Certificate and has also been hosting international students in her family home for many years. She has taught in further education for over 20 years. Her specialist subjects are Business Administration and Information Technology. Paddy has a Certificate in Education, a Masters degree in E-Learning and is a fellow of the Institute of Learning. She is currently working towards an LCCI qualification in Teaching Business English.

Home/location

Paddy lives in a large late-Victorian house with her husband Barry and her son Oliver. The house is only 5-10 minutes from East Putney tube station. It is a very pleasant, quiet, residential street. Their home is a large 3-storey terrace with a patio and a small garden to the rear. There are 11 rooms including a large kitchen/eating area and reception room on the ground floor. The other rooms are mostly bedrooms and an office for private study. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath.

Student's room

Two tastefully furnished and comfortable student's rooms are available. One is a large double room with Victorian-style furniture, wardrobes, side board and dressing table. It has a double bed and has a view to the front of the house. The second room is a suite of two single rooms, each with single beds and which are interconnecting through an archway on the top floor. This room has one access door and so student guests would have the exclusive use of both areas for relaxation and private study.

Family/interests

Paddy was born in 1955 and she is interested in art, painting, family, fashion, and theatre. Her husband, Barry, was born in 1943, and his interests include current affairs, politics, family, and rugby.

Paddy and Barry have two sons, Simon (1981), who lives away from home, and Oliver (!987), who lives at home some of the time. Oliver speaks French and Spanish fluently and has a TESOL certificate and is an Associate of the Institute of Linguists. He has taught English to business people in Spain.
