Example Homestay Tutor in Canterbury

Judith holds a degree in English and American literature from Canterbury University and the PCGE qualification to teach. She holds the CELTA certificate and she has taught for ten years in a Grammar school. After receiving the CELTA certificate, she has taught students on a one-to-one basis in her home.

Home/Location

The house is a comfortable family home with four bedrooms. There is a lovely large garden with mature oak trees and, although there are no pets, the garden is home to many wild birds and animals. In spite of its quiet location, the house is only a short walk from the city centre with its historic buildings, museums, shops, etc. Canterbury is an ideal centre for touring the beautiful countryside, coast and historic sites of the Southeast of England as well as for taking day trips to London.

Student’s Room

There are two student rooms overlooking the garden. The main single room has a very comfortable bed, a large desk, and an office chair. The other room has a comfortable double bed, a table and chairs, and French doors opening into the garden. There is the possibility to choose for a private bathroom.

Family/Interests

Judith is interested in art, painting and yoga. Her husband, Andrew, is interested in cinema, current affairs, history, reading, and travelling. They make a warm and welcoming couple. They also have three adult children, who are travelling or working abroad at present.

Pets

They do not have any pets.
